Sunsetting movietag

The service was created as a side project, and although still running today (62,000+ tagged movies later!), unfortunately it can no longer be maintained. As a result movietag.io in its current form will be shut down on the 1st November 2024.

If you'd like to keep your movie lists, please login and export each one now.

After 1st November 2024 the site and all data will no longer be available.

FAQs

How do I export my tags (lists)?

  1. Login, and select the tag (list) you'd like to export.

  2. On the top right hand side of the page you'll see an "EXPORT" link. This link will provide you with a downloadable .csv file containing the movies, your star ratings and reviews.

  3. Save and / or import it to another service as you won't be able to access your lists after the 1st November 2024.

Is there an alternative?

Yes, many sites will accept the exported data format. One of these is https://letterboxd.com. Your exported tags along with any star ratings and reviews you have written will import nicely into their lists.

I don't know my login details

If you don't remember your username, you can use the email you signed up with. If you don't remember your password, you can reset your password.
